What to expect in your Music Together® Babies class:
In Babies Music Together®, you will find a diverse community of parents and/or caregivers singing, dancing, and playing rhythm instruments together for their infants.
There will be a maximum of 12 babies in each 1-hour class, which meets once a week.
Songbooks accompany each session, distributed in your first class, with instructions for downloading recordings of the collection. (CDs and full sheet music are available as well.)
The curriculum is based on cutting-edge research that supports your baby's musical and brain development. You will learn to connect with your baby through music, using concepts like “purposeful touch,” “sound layering", "dancing with baby," and “dancing for baby.”
We will share musical activities you can recreate with your baby at home!
You might be wondering, "Do infants really benefit from being enrolled in a music class?" The answer is a resounding "YES!"
We are all born with the aptitude for learning music, just as we are born with the aptitude for learning a language.
A child is never too young to hear and respond to music or language. Infants are wired for sound.
Studies suggest that babies have remarkably sophisticated music responses beginning at birth. They may recognize songs, move their arms and legs in response to music, or even coo in the tonality of a song.
As their bodies and nervous systems mature, they will show progressively more complex musical responses!
This Fall, we are offering 3 Babies classes: Tuesdays @ 11:30 am, Wednesdays @ 12:00 pm, & Saturdays @ 12:30 pm.
"Great bonding experience for myself and my child. And the Babies Class was so great because we got to meet other families with babies the same age. Music Together® offered my baby and me a way to connect that continued outside the classroom and has absolutely impacted the way I'm able to communicate with and soothe her."
"We loved it! Our baby loves music class, it is for sure the highlight of his week. Whenever he is tired or cranky, we put on the music from class and he instantly starts smiling, dancing, and clapping."
“We have attended Music Together since my triplets were 7 weeks old and they absolutely love it. I have learned so much about how to interact with my children and how to encourage them to be silly and enjoy music. It is a highlight of our week!”
"I recommend the program to all parents, in all stages, but especially new parents. I found Heartsong Music with an infant to be not only a great bond with my daughter but also a magnificent and easy way to share common experiences of parenthood (particularly new mothers) in an energetic and happy setting."
