Heartsong Teachers

Amanda Tholen, Marketing Director

I’m a Tejana who hails from a large family that has nurtured in me a love of music throughout my entire life. My earliest memories of music are the sounds of my grandmother singing me to sleep in her deep, comforting voice and our family gatherings, marked by beautiful music playing at every celebration. Carey Youngblood, Owner/Director

I have been involved in music all my life. My mother had 4 children in 5 years and would sing us every song she knew at naptime when we were young in order to stay sane! My father played the ukulele and guitar and we would sing all the time – especially on road trips. My parents were not professional musicians – they just loved singing and making music. As a result, all 4 of us are singers and performers as adults, and music is a central part of our lives. Carey's full bio and testimonials.

Kerrie Graham

I’ve always been interested in music, and have had wide and varied musical tastes for as long as I can remember. Equally, I’ve enjoyed various performative pursuits throughout my life, including formal music, dance, and voice lessons, school and community choirs, amateur musical theater (ever the ham!), and even college rock bands. I sing constantly, and music is simply a part of my daily existence. Kerrie's full bio and testimonials.

Michelle Jamail

One of my earliest memories is being with my father's extended family in Vermont and after a delicious meal, gathering in the living room for a lively jam session. The sound of guitars, banjos, washboards, spoons (just about everything was an instrument!) and boisterous singing filled the air. What fun it was! Michelle's full bio and testimonials.

Vanessa Heilman, Assistant Director

Music has been a constant in my life, at times background, at others foreground, but always there. The foundation was laid for me with my mother’s nightly lullaby ritual, Rafi sing-a-longs in the car on family vacations, and sounds of folk classics from my parents’ vinyl collection. From there, it was in me; whether singing, listening, dancing, writing, playing, recording, performing or teaching, I cannot imagine life without music. Vanessa's full bio and testimonials.
